Lectionary Bible Study

Study and discussion of the scripture readings assigned for the week.
Led by the rectors and associate clergy.
Evening Home Bible Study Group
1st & 3rd Tuesdays, 6:45–8 pm, Parishioner Homes
This gathering is designed for younger (under 50ish) adults and parents with
young children.
Meetings are held at the homes of the members on a rotating basis.
Child care provided.
Singles and couples welcome include scripture study, reflection, prayer time
and dessert.
Journey in Faith/Catechumenate
11:45 am Sundays, Saturday as scheduled
Learn more about being a Christian in the Episcopal faith, deepen your
understanding, build relationships with others prepare for Baptism,
Conformation or reception from another Christian denomination.
Contemplative Prayer Group
2:00 pm, 2nd & 4th Mondays, Ladehoff Room
Experience of silent contemplation for 20 minutes followed by shared
discussion on a theme deepening your spiritual journey.

Inquirer Forum

Episcopalians are unique Christians; some say we look at many of the same
things differently.
This forum will provide an overview of the Episcopal Church and how we at
St. Johns function as a parish.
Midweek Mix
Monthly, Various Evenings 5:30–8 pm, Lady Chapel, BLR
An intergenerational gathering for fun, enrichment, and community-building.

The evening begins with worship at 5:30pm in the Lady chapel, moves at 6:15
to dinner, sometimes in the OES Dining Hall, and returns for a 7pm program
in the Ladehoff Room.
Companions On the Journey
2nd Wednesdays, 7:00pm
Companion with others who are seeking to deepen their faith through the
practice of prayer, study, and social action.
Meetings are intended to be insightful, supportive, uplifting, and
enjoyable!
Examining Christianity
1st, 3rd Friday 10:00am–Noon
Using Alister E. McGrath’s second edition of Christian Theology this group
explores the history, sources, methods and doctrines of Christian theology.
“Jesus As Imaged in Film”
2nd, 4th Fridays, 10:00am–Noon, Ladehoff Room
These sessions, led by film buff and theologian Robin Haglund will view
projections of about 15 filmmakers over the past 45 years. Class includes
clips from about 4-6 movies centering on a single theme (i.e. the
annunciation, Jesus' baptism, temptation in the wilderness, etc) coupled
with lively discussion.
